Neltner collaborates with Shooter Jennings

Shooter Jennings resides in New York these days but his roots and country influences are ever present on his latest country release. Neltner Creative, based in Kentucky collaborated most of 2011 on the earthy and imperfect album artwork, having weekly discussions virtually about the themes running through the music and the fragile thread that holds family life together. Both Shooter and Neltner have had additions to their own families, sons (younger siblings to their elder daughters). "The essence of the artwork was to bring forward one of the oldest forms of representing a family through their crest. Many layers can be peeled back in the artwork to reveal the balance of the good and evil forces pushing and pulling on all of us. We photographed a python which took a little courage. Wrangling the serpent for the center spread of the artwork was a bit tedious." says Keith Neltner from his studio in Camp Springs. Shooter adds, "Keith more than poured his soul into the project and it's by far my most proud piece of art as a whole." The pair will be working later this year on the follow up album entitled, "The Other Life."
